There are a number of fundraising ventures being planned. A hugely successful banquet was organised by Club Tyrone in Cormac’s memory in early February 2004, and raised the staggering sum of £121,000 for the Trust (see Club Tyrone Banquet).
Club Tyrone brings together people who believe the GAA is an important part of the fabric of life in Tyrone. Because of this belief, our members contribute financially, on a planned giving basis, to the development of the Association in Tyrone.A fundamental principle within Club Tyrone is that the GAA is about putting in more than you take out. We believe that’s a core principle we shared with Cormac McAnallen. As a result we were privileged to organise the “Heart of Gold” banquet in early February 2004 as the first major fund-raising event for the Cormac trust. The “Heart of Gold” sold out within six days of being launched and brought almost 700 people from across Ireland and beyond to the Armagh City Hotel on February 2005.The Banquet raised the magnificent sum of over £121,000, all of which has been transferred to The Cormac Trust.
For Club Tyrone members Cormac McAnallen values; lifestyle; effort; commitment; and achievements exemplified the heart and soul of the GAA. It was indeed our privilege to support The Cormac Trust.
