Cycle For Life: Around Ireland – April 2013

Cycle for Life. Cormac Ryan,Kevin Conway, Niall O’ Donnell and Sean Ryan. An 1,100KM Charity Cycle in Aid of The Irish Heart Foundation, Cardiac Risk in the Young and The Cormac Trust. Please support us!!!

Four friends, Cormac Ryan, Sean Ryan, Niall O’ Donnell and Kevin Conway all with their own stories and motivations, all driven to raise money and awareness for The Irish Heart Foundation, CRY(Cardiac Risk in the Young) and The Cormac Trust.

ABOUT THE LADS :

Cormac-Cormac was the goalkeeper for the Dublin Minor Hurlers in 2011. A fit active lad playing at a high level. Suddenly in April 2012 Cormac was diagnosed with a serious heart condition known as heart block. It is a form of arrythmia. He had a pacemaker implanted in his chest in late February. He has been told he is very lucky to still be alive.

Niall is a member of Whitehall Colmcille GAA club and studying Primary Teaching in St.Pats. Niall,like Cormac suffers from a heart conditon. It is called tachycardia whereby his heart beats too fast.

Kevin comes from the parish of St.Margarets in North County Dublin. He is a student in NUI Maynooth. Kevin’s motivations for the cycle lie with his immediate family. A close family member has an ICD (defibrillator) implanted.

Sean is the elder brother of Cormac and ws the first person on board with the cycle. He is a member of Whitehall Colmcille GAA club and has hurled with Dublin. He is also a keen cyclists.

All 4 have their reasons for doing the cycle so please do all you can to help!

ABOUT THE CYCLE:

On the 5th April 2013 the lads set out on an 1100km journey around the country over 10 days.Fittingly their first stop will be in Eglish Co.Tyrone,the homeplace of Cormac McAnallen. The lads will then move onto Derry,Sigo,Westport,Galway,Kilmallock,Cork,Waterford,Courtown and back to Dublin.

They deserve all the support they can get so please do whatever you can to support or help them.
