News_Banquet.jpgA Fundraising banquet for the Cormac Trust being set up in memory of the late Cormac McAnallen has been sold out less than a week after its official launch with the Trust fund standing to generate in the region of £50,000 of proceeds from the event.

More than 60 tables for the event in the Armagh City Hotel have been sold meaning that the event is now full to capacity. Pat Darcy, Chairman of Club Tyrone who are organising the event said how delighted he was on the response to the initial fundraising. “Club Tyrone were delighted to be involved in this initial fundraising for the Cormac Trust and always knew that the interest in supporting this great cause would be high, but we have been inundated with requests for tables way above what we can handle. Tables have been bought by individuals, companies, sporting organizations, media representatives, banks and many more, from Tyrone, across Northern Ireland and indeed throughout all of Ireland. This is a tremendous expression of support for the Trust and for the pleas that the McAnallen family have made to help reduce deaths from the type of condition from which Cormac died”
“It is also excellent to see companies and organizations who wanted to take a table but have not been able to secure one actually wanting to contribute the £1000 cost of the table to the Cormac Trust,” he added.

News_Launch.jpgThe Cormac Banquet was launched in Dublin and Belfast by sporting personalities from rugby, soccer and gaelic including Irish rugby captain Brian O’Driscoil, Republic of Ireland soccer manager Brian Kerr, Glentoran striker Chris Morgan, Tyrone All-Ireland winning captain Peter Canavan and Irish rugby international Jeremy Davidson.
